Cassandra Chantris

Major in Benedict's First Force

Cassandra stands a lithe five foot ten. She carries herself with a panther-like grace, honed by years of saber practice and war-horse training. Her smoldering hair is a bright shade of flame; she possesses a disconcerting stare, and uses her pale amber-hazel eyes to an advantage upon meeting someone new. When not in uniform, she wears the house colors of burgundy and black.

Chantris is a house of warriors, and Cassandra followed the footsteps of many before her when she joined the cavalry after her schooling. She spent many years in the Third Force, before being noticed by Benedict himself and rising to the First. She has served him there for over one hundred and sixty years.

Her father, Albrecht, is the youngest son of the house. He serves the house interests by producing the finest war-horses to be found in Amber or any of its environs. Cassandra takes after him in this skill, and has a fine eye for judging horseflesh. She is also renowned as a trainer of the beasts, and can turn a three-year-old horse into a sixteen hundred pound fighting machine in a matter of months.

Cassandra is somewhat of a loner, and does not encourage close relationships. She has, however, lots and lots of drinking buddies. Her hobby is the distillation of what she calls "aqua vitae." Some of these spirits are beginning to mature quite nicely, by her standards.
