NPCs

Sir Garrett Márton — In his late thirties, Sir Garrett is several years older than his new wife, Lady Leona. Once a lieutenant in Julian's forest guard, Sir Garrett has recently retired his commission in favor of a minor land grant, a lovely woman, and a simple life. He is mustachioed with sandy blond hair, and was once one of Julian's most laid-back men.

Bishop Gregory Masterson, Chairman of Our Lady of Order's Board of Inquiry — A large and imposing man, Bishop Gregory would be dismayed to hear that he resembles a bear. His black hair and thick beard are liberally streaked with gray, and he makes no effort to hide his aging yet massively muscular physique — one born of long years of protecting the Unicorn's spiritual empire as one of the most decorated members of the Pattern Templars. He currently holds an honorary clerical position at Our Lady of Order Cathedral, Temple Boulevard, Amber City.

Jehan — A pleasant Rebman merchant's son, who sells Pynweir shells at the Rebman marketplace. He is a little on the short side with coral-colored hair, black eyes, and a trickster's grin.

Jehan's Grandmother — An elderly woman, too ripe to be matronly, that makes scaled trunks by hand and sells them out of her Grandson's stall in the Rebman marketplace.

Jolan, son of Caine — Swarthy, with a mass of curly, dark hair, Jolan is very much like what his father might have been like at his age, in both looks and disposition. He could be a very apt Amberite — should he live that long. He has developed a dislike for his cousin, Sir Mallory, over a dispute regarding a servant. He does not particularly care for Lady Sophia, either.

Trump Description — A dark-haired youth is standing commandingly on the deck of a clipper, her sails full with wind. Arms crossed and legs wide, the subject regards the audience with a devilish smile that seems to invite both warmth and suspicion. Pride edges into hubris in the young man's handsome face, although perhaps the artist has tried to flatter arrogance on the side of youth. Above the portrait is a sigil featuring a navigational compass pointing South. The rendering hand is undoubtedly Caine's.
Lady Julietta Pascál — A third cousin to Silas's mother, Countess Lydia Pascál, the Lady Julietta has just recently come into her marriageable years. Her own mother is encouraging her introduction to the social scene of Amber — sadly for her, she is mousily quiet and polite, two things which are not always of a help in the world of noble politics. She worries over a freckled nose and broad mouth, though, next to her warm brown eyes and curly reddish hair, she shouldn't.

Prince Kieran of Eirea — Kieran is a youth full of fire and holding the anger and desperation of his people. He is redheaded with a horsetail and a thin Van Dyke beard, with passionate blue eyes.

Lady Leona Márton — The newlywed wife of Sir Garrett. Bouncy gold hair and a voluptuous figure, she is good-natured and enthusiastic — even more so when it's the so-called "happiest day of her life". More than willing to buckle down and make her living over-seeing a small parcel of land and a few serfs as lady of a keep, Leona keeps in mind her husband's debt to Julian.

Countess Lydia Pascál — The deceased wife of Gérard and mother of Silas, beloved and mourned by all.

Lady Provost Marion Chadwyck, Chief Constable, Amber City Constabulary -- Chosen by Gerard as the head of the Amber City Constabulary, Lady Marion is the child of an Nguruese diplomat and a member of House Chadwyck. She is one of the few women holding a position of great authority in Amber. Gossip sometimes suggests that this is because she so resembles a man in temperament, but no one has yet said this to Marion's face. Tall, broad, and athletic, the Lady Provost has dusky brown skin, dark eyes, and thick, curly, black hair. She dresses in either loose, masculine clothing or split skirts while on duty.

Deacon Nestor of Baylesland Cathedral — The Deacon Nestor is a stout gentleman of middling height, who seems constantly anxious about one thing or another. He heads a congregation in a northern province ruled by the Bayle family, although he occasionally travels to the City for consultation.

Archeon Praetorius, Spiritual Leader of Amber and Realms Beyond — As is expected from the highest spiritual leader in Amber, the Archeon is learned and experienced in the ways of Amber's highest faith. His advancing years have left him with a number of memories of the past, good and bad, the wisdom from which he never hesitates to share.

Serenity, Daughter of Llewella — Smaller than her mother, Serenity has a fire within her that does not burn inside Llewella. Also like her mother, she has a gift for divination that as yet she cannot control, tempered by a fierce edge that may prove whether or not she can tame her uncontrolled powers. Her hair is an uncommon shade of deep copper red, with streaks of dark green that make it seem tarnished, and green eyes in a doll's face.

Trump Description — Seen in profile, a girl climbs an Oak at night. With a slight smile of wonder, her expression shows that she is lost to the conscious world, eager for some destination that only she can see. Perhaps her mind, like her gaze, is fixed on the moon full in the sky. Although strangely copper hair falls to her waist, she wears a boy's loose clothing. A beautifully made sword hangs on her back — a sword that shines with a light bluer than moonlight, yet is lightweight and sized for small hands. The sigil featured on the card is a slender blade splitting a moon: one side of the moon dark, one light. The painting is simple yet scrupulously detailed, and is signed "F".
Silas, son of Gérard — Silas is the tall, golden-haired, only child of Gerard and his wife, Lydia. He is an honest and gentle-hearted youth, with the regrettable tendency to choose friends whose influence is mighty and not altogether healthy. Since his mother's passing, he has fallen more and more under the sway of Jolan, and has become less of his father's son in doing so.
Trump Description — Chest and shoulders facing forward, a young man's head is turning to his right, as though he has heard his name called by a stranger. His profile is strong: short sandy hair and a noble forehead, but the youth seems somehow lost and sad, wearing an unexpected maturity as though tempered by grief. He wears bright armor, and holds a shield loosely before him, but his head is bare, and gauntlets are held in his right hand. Above the youth is a sigil: a gray stone tower with clouds above and behind it. An unknown hand does the painting, though striking.
Count Tivolio of the Amandine Reefs of Duolo, Midsummeran Ambassador to Amber — Jovial and accommodating, his Excellency Tivolio is, in many ways, the typical Midsummeran: full of joie de vivre as well as a healthy amount of debauchery. He is currently working on assignment for the Summer King: find Heir Apparent Portia a husband in Amber.
